“Suspended,” she read slowly, fighting back the urge to crumple the letter in her fist. Her eyes stung, growing wet with tears. She’d given everything to be here, and now they were kicking her out.
“Due to the ongoing investigation, you are no longer allowed on campus until further notice,” the letter continued.
The investigation was supposed to take a week at maximum. But sixty years in, she was still in the dark. With her rage festering over the years, she vowed to make each of them pay.
