Mother Only Learns Value After Auctioning Statue

Hot Summer

It was an extremely hot day. Beads of sweat were forming on her forehead and running down her face. Linda quickly turned the air conditioner on and set it to its lowest temperature.

Linda loved spending time at Antique Road Shows. For as long as she could remember, it had been one of her favorite things to attend.

When she found out that her favorite show was coming to Albuquerque, she was beside herself with excitement. She had something she had wanted to appraise for a long time now.

Hand-Carved Statue

She had a hand-carved lion statue from China that she had inherited from her mother.

Her mom found it in the streets of a town close to Beijing. She wanted to use it as a doorstep.

History

Getting it was easy, She handed the seller the money, and the seller handed her the statue. Neither knew that it would start a tradition that would go on for years.
