Homeless Man Kept Staring At Her Every Day Until He Slipped Her A Note
Her eyes scanned over the damaged and stained note that was crumpled in her hands. He wasn’t acting like his usual self when he handed it to her. He was in a rush and she knew that something wasn’t right.
She couldn’t believe her eyes when she read what was on the note. She was wildered to think that she had gotten so close to him every day and even offered him something to eat. She had to sit down, her heart felt like it was about to burst through her chest. This was not what she was expecting.
New York
Mary Aldrin lived in New York for her entire life. She loved New York, despite its dirty and dangerous reputation.
Mary cared about the people around her and did everything she could to show people that the city wasn’t as bad as they all thought it was. She never could have guessed that her help would be wasted on a certain someone.
Mother And Daughter
Mary had a degree in hospitality and owned her own bakery in the city. She was lucky enough to make enough money to support herself and her daughter, Dominique. But without Dominique’s father in the picture, it wasn’t always easy for the pair.
They had gotten a divorce right after their daughter was born, and although he was sending his support cheques, they weren’t even enough to pay for Dominique’s education. But Mary had no idea that an important someone was about to appear in her life.
Happy Man
This didn’t get Mary down. She knew that there were people around her that had it far worse than she did. In recent weeks, she had started noticing a homeless man staring at her every time she would walk past him.
He was clearly living in poverty but that never stopped him from smiling. Mary recognized that there was something familiar about him. She could see that despite his situation, he still had hope inside of him. He was an inspiration to her. But she didn’t know who this man really was.
Familiarity
Mary saw the man every day, while walking to work and decided to talk to the man. He was quiet but friendly. But she knew that he had a familiar quality about him.
She thought that it must have been his friendly face. Friendly faces always seemed familiar to her. She was wrong, however. If only she had trusted her gut about where she recognized him from.
