“Excuse me? Could you remove your hat, please?” she asked him. As he attempted to gaze up at her, a piercing ache surged through his neck.

“Take that off,” she said again, irritably. To get to him, she threaded her way past the students. He made an attempt to flee. He couldn’t let on that he was hiding something.

Living His Best Life

Terry enjoyed his life thoroughly. He had good grades, great friends, and a very supportive family.

For a seventeen-year-old like Terry, this was the pinnacle of his adolescent and high school years. He had no idea that things were about to go bad.

Dreams Coming True

Terry’s life changed for the best when his parents got him a car for his birthday! It was his dream come true! He could not wait to show all of his friends his amazing gift.

But what was supposed to provide him the happiness he’d hoped for since starting high school seemed to put his life in jeopardy.

How It Started

It was a normal day for Terry. He woke up, ate oatmeal, and made his way to school.

He did not live far from his school, and it only took him about 15 minutes to reach his school. However, traffic was very congested that day. Terry made every effort to navigate his way through the hundreds of vehicles. When it happened, he was approximately halfway through his journey.

Running Late

Terry had come to a halt at a red light and was waiting for it to turn green. He’d been driving for about an hour at this point. He didn’t want to miss another day of school.

Terry pushed his foot on the gas as the light turned green. His car sped forward, but another car slammed into him from behind, gouging into his side.
