Teen Reveals Something After Waking From 12-Year Coma

Ever since he was only 12-years-old, Martin Pistorius had been in a coma. During this time, everyone around him assumed that he had no conscious experience, they all assumed that he was “mentally dead”.

But years passed and eventually, Martin did wake up. Everyone was baffled when he announced that he hadn’t been unconscious. Sometimes he could see things, he could hear what was happening around him, and he could even think certain things.

When he told everyone what he had experienced, they were bewildered.

Terrible Experience

Being in a coma can be one of the most terrible experiences in life. Most people lack any type of consciousness while in a coma, but few remain conscious during the entire time. They are aware of the world around them, but no one knows that they are.

Marin Pistorius was one of the few people that lived through this experience. What he witnessed on the other side of the coma has left people questioning a few things.

Tragedy Struck

His entire experience started unexpectedly. Martin was only 12-years-old and in perfect health. He had a deep love for electronics and he was brilliant with them. Everyone thought that he would become a hardware engineer when he grew up.

But one ordinary day, his entire family was struck with tragedy. The unexpected happened, and it changed Martin’s life forever.

Happened Fast

It happened fast. One day, he came home from school with a sore throat, then he started having difficulties moving his limbs. Doctors had no idea what was happening to him.

They decided that it was best to treat him for tuberculosis and cryptococcal meningitis. But after a few days, it was clear that it wasn’t working. Soon, it only got worse.

Span Of A Year

It continued for an entire year, and in that year, it only ever got worse. He was no longer able to move, speak, eat or drink. There were no answers, no one knew what was causing this. The chances of him getting better were slim.

After more time passed, he lost the ability to make eye contact, listen, or even see. This all happened in the span of a year. He was officially in a vegetative state. No one thought that he would ever be able to regain consciousness.
