Weird Al’s Request Was Denied
Prince is very protective over his body of work and he has a strong stance against any other artists doing covers of his songs. So, when the hilarious parody maker Weird Al asked Prince if he could do a parody of “Purple Rain” the answer was a strong no. Weird Al reached out to Prince a few more times over the years and his requests were always denied.
