Unlike some of the actors on this list, Tippi Hedren’s reason for being blacklisted from Hollywood was extremely unfair. It turns out that the fashion model was hired by Alfred Hitchcock to star in the films “The Birds,” and “Marnie.” But the famous director tried putting the moves on her and she turned him down. So, in retaliation, he froze her contract for two years and swore that she would never work in Hollywood again. Eventually, he sold her contract and she returned to acting. But by that point, the experience had left her so disappointed that she traded acting for animal rights activism.
