Dorothy Parker was a major screenwriter in the 1930s and the 1940s. In fact, she was responsible for writing screenplays for Alfred Hitchcock. Unfortunately, there were rumors that she was a communist and was accused of being a part of this questionable political party. So, in 1949, she reportedly got a letter informing her that she had been blacklisted from Hollywood for having ties to communism.
