Burgess Meredith
Although several actors have played the role of the Joker from DC’s Batman, Burgess Meredith’s portrayal of the villain was amazing in the 1950’s “Batman” series. But his career hit a snag when Hollywood blacklisted him on suspicion that he was a communist. Luckily, an investigation proved that he was not actually involved with communism and was eventually acquitted of all accusations allowing the actor to get back to work.
