Charlie Chaplin
Comic actor and filmmaker Charlie Chaplin became a worldwide icon in the film industry. Unfortunately, he once found himself banned from the United States because they felt that his efforts to support charities was unpatriotic at the time. Eventually, he was allowed back into the country, but the FBI eyed him like a hawk on suspicions of being a communist sympathizer before permanently kicking him out of the country once again. So, Chaplin ended up settling in Switzerland instead.
