Lena Horne
Lena Horne was famous for film roles like 1943’s “Cabin in the Sky” and 1945’s “Ziegfeld Follies.” But her socialist/liberal views made her a target for political conservatives in the government and she found herself accused of communism in the 1950s. This resulted in her being blacklisted from Hollywood. Despite the major setback, she continued to work as a singer, a dancer and as a civil rights activist until the very end.
