Arnold Schwarzenegger is another celebrity who performed compulsory service. Schwarzenegger is a native of Austria and while living there he completed one year of compulsory service. During his time, he won the Junior Mr. Europe competition, which he went AWOL to compete in. He spent a week in military prison for his infraction.
