Considered a style icon, one surprising fact about the late Jackie Kennedy is that she amassed quite the jewelry collection. Originally appraised at $400, a set of her pearl necklaces were sold for $85,000 at an estate sale. One of her most prized possessions was her engagement ring from John F. Kennedy. Bought in 1953, the ring was a combination of a 2.88-carat diamond and 2.84 emerald with a French style design of tapered “flowery” baguettes. In 1963, it was redesigned to include 2.12-carats of marquise and round-cut diamonds which added an overall additional weight of 8-carats.
