The Creator Was Accused of Plagiarism
Fans of the show have noticed certain similarities between “Squid Game” and Japanese productions like “Liar Game” and “As the Gods Will.” In fact, the scene with the doll in “Squid Game” is quite similar to a scene from “As the Gods Will.” But “As the Gods Will” was released in 2014, five years after the director Dong-hyuk reportedly finished his script. Other viewers claim that some of the challenges and the overall concept of the show is somewhat similar to the “Saw” film franchise.
