Doritos’ ‘Free Doritos’
In 2007, Doritos launched their “Crash the Super Bowl” campaign. Consumers were asked to create their own Super Bowl ad, and the best would be chosen to actually air. They brought the same contest back in 2009, with a twist. If the winners could get the commercial to #1 on the Ad Meter poll, they would win $1 million. Joe and Dave Herbert, who created the ad, pulled it off, and won the money. Here is the ad they made.
