Jason Segel played Marshall Eriksen, Ted’s former college roommate and best friend. He’s also married to Lily. Segel was a child actor, playing Nick in Judd Apatow’s cult-hit coming of age show “Freaks and Geeks.” He also had a role in Apatow’s next television show “Undeclared” before landing the role of Marshall.
