No food or drinks are allowed inside of the soundstage where Ellen films her talk show. There is too much room for error, and it only takes one person to create a mess. It would also read badly on television. Imagine sitting at home trying to listen to Ellen interview someone, and all you can hear is someone munching on chips in the background.
