Miss Ellie in “Dallas”
Miss Ellie was portrayed by Barbara Bel Geddes on “Dallas” for six seasons of the series, but when she needed to have emergency quadruple bypass surgery, she took an absence from the show. Actress Donna Reed stepped into the role during this time, but she later sued the production company of the series for breach of contract after she was fired when Geddes decided to return to her role.
