Carl, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Terminator: Dark Fate,” was a T-800 Terminator who killed John Connor as a child shortly after the events of “Terminator 2: Judgement Day.” Audiences felt Sarah Connor’s anger when Carl resurfaced in her life years later as a T-800 who developed remorse for his actions.
