Kelly and Bud Were Recast
Producers agreed with O’Neill but they still needed new actors to take over the roles of Kelly and Bud. So, casting directors scrambled and eventually found Christina Applegate and David Faustino. Then the cast re-shot the pilot scenes with the new kids in them, and the rest is history.
