Corbin Bleu originally auditioned for Ryan Evans, before he knew about the part he would be cast as, Chad Danforth. Corbin was most worried about the basketball scenes because he had no skills playing basketball whatsoever. Once he was cast, he started carrying a basketball with him every moment of the day, even in bed!
