Nathan Kress (Then)
Nathan Kress’ first role was as Easy the Chimp in “Babe: Pig in the City”. After doing this, he was used as a regular actor to do sketches on “Jimmy Kimmel” becoming well-known for his impression of a young Simon Cowell. He also made appearances in shows such as “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody”, “Without a Trace”, and “Drake & Josh”. The role he had on “Drake & Josh” was of a nerdy boy named Toplin who goes to a kid’s birthday party and has a big crush on Megan, played by Miranda Cosgrove. Dan Schneider loved Nathan’s acting skills that he asked him to audition for a similar character on a new sitcom, “iCarly”. When the show got picked up, he cut Nathan’s scene out of the episode of “Drake & Josh” to avoid confusing the audiences. On “iCarly” Nathan played, Freddie Benson, Carly’s nerdy, tech loving next door neighbor who helps Carly make her web series, and he also has a crush on her. Carly and Freddie date on an episode of the show, but it’s also interesting to note that Freddie dates Sam Puckett, Carly’s best friend, for a few episodes.
