Superman is one of the most iconic superheroes ever. He is the gold standard and is the supreme superhero archetype hero. A founding member of DC’s Justice League and is part of what many call the Trinity of DC Comics along with Super Woman and Batman. Superman’s abilities include superhuman strength, speed, durability, longevity, as well as flight, heat vision, freeze breath, x-ray, infra-red, telescopic, and microscopic vision. His only real vulnerabilities are to kryptonite and magic.
One Marvel character to serve as a homage to Superman is Gladiator, who debuted in 1977. Even his real name is Kallark which made up of Superman’s real names, Kal-El and Clark Kent. His abilities also mirror DC’s Man of Steel with his superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, stamina, and durability. Gladiator also possesses microscopic, x-ray, and telescopic vision as well as heat vision, super-breath and frost breath. Gladiator has the ability to fly, possesses a healing factor and is resistant to psionic attacks. He is, however, vulnerable to certain types of radiation and his power level coincide with his confidence levels.
