Both DC and Marvel have characters that are essentially anthropomorphic felines. DC debuted the character Cheetah in 1943 as a nemesis to Wonder Woman, her alias has changed several times over her publication history and her story has been retconned as well. Cheetah possesses superhuman speed and strength as well as enhanced senses like that of a cat.
Marvel has Tigra, a super heroine that debuted as a tiger-woman mutant in 1974. Tigra has limited mystical abilities as well as superhuman strength, agility, and speed. She also has retractable claws and pronounced canine teeth. Her senses are enhanced and are likened to that of a cat.
