Ursula Andress in “Dr. No” (1962)
Ursula Andress, an actress from Switzerland and Germany, played Honey Rider in the movie “Dr. No” in 1962. Andress got the role just two weeks before they started making the movie. The film’s producers saw a picture of her taken by her husband, John Derek, and wanted her for the role. To look more like she was from Jamaica, Andress got a spray tan, and someone else spoke her lines because of her heavy accent. Honey’s iconic white bikini was made from a belt worn by soldiers in the British Army.
