MasterChef is a popular cooking contest where home chefs audition for the title of MasterChef and a $250,000 prize. But former contestant Ben Starr explained in a blog post that contestants have to agree to be potentially portrayed in a fictionalized and sometimes humiliating way. Starr also claimed that editors also piece dialogue together to create statements that were never actually said. “There is NOTHING real about reality TV. Comments you see a contestant make are often pieced together from sound byte tangents recorded throughout the entire season” he explained.
