Roxelana on “The Magnificent Century”
The Turkish TV series “The Magnificent Century” is about the life of historical figure Sultan Süleyman. Actress Meryem Uzerli originally played the lead role of Roxelana, but due to mental health issues, she left the series before filming finished. So the character was later played by Vahide Gordum, an older actress who played Roxelana in a later stage in her life.
