The Mountain on “Game of Thrones”
The epic fantasy series “Game of Thrones” did a lot of recasting during the run of the series because of travel required for filming and some pretty tough filming schedules. The role of The Mountain was recast three times. He was first portrayed by Conan Stevens, who had scheduling conflicts, so he was replaced by Ian Whyte, before Icelandic actor Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson played the role in season four.
