Jack White vs. the Black Keys
Most commonly, musicians want to have their own identity, and being compared to another artist only ends up annoying them instead of flattering them. Being constantly likened with Black Keys, Jack White eventually had enough, which explains why he decided to distance himself from the group. He would have happily left it at that, until his ex wife, Karen Elson, decided to send their kids to the same school as Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach’s kids. White clearly didn’t appreciate the fact that the Black Keys vocalist would get another chance to ride in on his fame, as was stated in a private email he shared with Elson, which was later leaked to the public.
