Sometimes, even lifelong friendships fail due to certain differences in making decisions. One person decides to go one way and the other decides to go down a different path. This is what happened to Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, the two men making up the American folk-rock duo Simon & Garfunkel. Although their earlier years were filled with much fondness for each other, on the count that they started recording together as teenagers in 1957, their latter years together became one big blur. At that time, Garfunkel was focusing on his academic career while Simon was busy signing a solo deal that would lead him to success. Obviously, Garfunkel felt betrayed and the two of them had a falling out.
