Jimmy Stewart was the number one bachelor when he popped the question to socialite Gloria Hatrick McLean. The industry and fans then had mixed feelings about their engagement. Luckily for Gloria, Stewart never seemed to regret his choice to give up the single lifestyle. Their union lasted until she passed away in 1994. The lovely couple said their “I do’s” in 1949 at the Brentwood Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles. There were around 600 fans and members of the media that greeted them outside after the ceremony.
