Wallis Simpson
The royal wedding of Wallis Simpson to former British King Edward VIII was unlike any other. This wasn’t only because she was marrying a monarch, but also because she was a divorcée. At the time, it was a huge deal for the monarchy. The couple still managed to enjoy their nuptials at the Château de Candé in 1937. The Duchess of Windsor wore an exquisite dress that was created by Mainbocher. It was in the “Wallis blue” color, which was created to supposedly match her eyes.
