Grace Kelly
Before Kate Middleton, there was Grace Kelly. The Hollywood actress arguably paved the way for other “commoners” who married into royalty. She captured the heart of Prince Rainier III of Monaco and walked down the aisle in 1956. Their wedding was an unsurprisingly star-studded event. Grace’s ballgown went down in history as one of the most elegant bridal looks of all time. Costume designer Helen Rose designed it, which was actually MGM’s wedding gift to her. The remarkable dress reportedly took 30 seamstresses and six weeks to make.
