Princess Anne
Princess Anne’s first marriage to Olympic gold medalist Mark Phillips. During their big day in 1963 at Westminster Abbey, the Queen’s only daughter sported a dainty dress designed by Maureen Baker. At the time, the British designer had already previously designed outfits for the princess. The stylish ’70s dress combined “Tudor-style” high-collar and “medieval sleeves.” Princess Anne reportedly designed many aspects of it, but Lock’s Embroiderers were in charge of the train. Her bridal gown was considered “simplistic” when compared to other royal wedding dresses.
