The Movie Evaded the Race Issue
In the film, Sean Tuohy mentions that he can’t believe that he has a black son. Later in the film, the topic of race is mentioned again when one of Oher’s teammates makes a comment about him during a game. But for the most part, the film steers clear of any racial tension, even though in real life, the situation surrounding the topic was much less cut and dry. A few other people who knew the Tuohy’s had some vocal opinions about the new addition to their family.
