Oher’s Transition to High School Was Pure Fiction
In the film, Oher’s assimilation into Briarcrest Christian School went off without a hitch. But Oher doesn’t recall the real-life experience going quite as smoothly and he claims that the film’s writers rewrote history to make his onscreen journey more emotional. For instance, there were a lot of tests and assignments that the future football player had to complete before he was accepted into the school, which were more mentally grueling than emotional.
