Real Coaches Appeared in the Film
Ole Miss University coach Houston Nutt, who coached the real Oher, played himself in the film. Ed Orgeron, a popular coach who coached at Ole Miss as well as LSU and USC also appeared in the film alongside another famous coach named Nick Saban. So even though the film stretched the truth quite a bit, at least some real-life sport figures graced the big screen to give their acceptance to the great film.
