Oher’s Father Suffered a Tragic Fate
Most therapists would agree that having a good male role model, biological or otherwise, is good for young kids who are learning how to pave their way in the world. But Oher lacked a stable father figure because his dad was often in and out of prison. And sadly, his father lost his life while he was serving time behind bars, which had a significant effect on the future football player.
