Marriage to Katie Holmes
In 2006, Cruise and Holmes were married in a Scientologist ceremony at a castle in Italy. Cruise proposed to Holmes while at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Head Scientologist David Miscavige was Cruise’s best man. Six years later, Holmes filed for divorce from Cruise. Cruise has subsequently stated that Holmes divorced him to prevent their daughter Suri from joining Scientology.
