Frank Sued an Auctioneer
The show makes it seem like any agreement the pickers make with collectors and auctioneer has a happy ending, but that’s not always the case. In one episode, Fritz bought a polarimeter from an auctioneer named Jerry Bruce in Greenville, South Carolina. The device was designed to measure the sugar content in alcohol. The only problem is that Bruce never sent Fritz the device despite getting a check. In all fairness, Bruce never cashed the check, but this didn’t stop Fritz from suing the auctioneer. Unfortunately, for Fritz, the judge ruled in favor of Bruce.
