Michael’s Daughter Has a Cleft Lip
Michael Wolfe’s daughter was born with a cleft lip and palate, a birth condition that causes an opening or split in the roof of the mouth and lip. This often occurs as part of a genetic disorder, a syndrome or can occur randomly. This can make it difficult for a child to speak or to eat and can lead to speech impediments as well. Fortunately, surgery can fix this condition and leave very little scarring on the face.
