The pickers may not be vampires but they still need permission from the homeowners before entering their property. But this is handled by the production crew, who gets approval prior to filming. Without the approval, they are not legally allowed to trespass on a property and rummage through other people’s personal items, no matter what state the junk pile in the garage is in or if the junk is out in the front yard.
