Katharine McPhee from “American Idol” Before
In 2005, McPhee was urged by her boyfriend and parents to audition for “American Idol.” She sang the song “God Bless the Child” by Billie Holliday and made it all the way to runner up of the season. She then signed with RCA Records in 2006 and toured with other “American Idol” contestants that year.
