He Lost His Mother
Kenya Wild Life Service received information from a helicopter about a distressed elephant. As the infant guarded his sick mother, he stood atop a hill. Sadly, the mother soon passed away. As the helicopter couldn’t reach the young elephant, they had no choice but to walk there.
Eventually, the baby was brought back to the facility. Once they reached the facility, the elephant was terrified. Soon after his release, the baby was placed in a facility that held other orphans. He was immediately taken care of and taught basic skills by the mothers. Rojo, which means spirit in Swahili, was the name given to the small elephant.
