A girl I went to high school with asked me: “Why do people say a ‘quarter of an hour’? Like what does that even mean?”I responded by saying, “It’s 15 minutes.
Because 15 is a fourth of 60, so that’s a quarter of an hour.” She looked at me like I’m an idiot for a while and then replied, “But a quarter is 25…” I didn’t know how to respond.
