About half the calls I take as a 9-1-1 operator on a daily basis are from people who call 9-1-1 to ask whether Walmart is open, to report that they didn’t get enough mayo on their burger, to complain that the cleanup at a fatality wreck is taking “too long” and all sorts of absurd, out of touch, beyond insensitive stuff.
It truly makes you lose faith in humanity.
