The delay in payment seems unreasonable
It seems like the jeweler was taking his time. When Oliver heard a commotion, he went to investigate what was going on in his office and knocked on the door. The jeweler, however, did not provide any feedback. He seemed to be intentionally delaying Oliver. Olivier was completely befuddled. Simply put, he needed cash.
