“I heard she remarried,” Frank’s mom said over dinner. “To the guy whose underachievements you’ve been funding, no less,” she giggled. “Ah, Franky. I’m sorry. Life will get better. I promise.”
Frank’s lips curled as he listened to her. He should have told her he left Suzie with a parting gift so grand she’d remember him in this life and next.
Her new husband would also enjoy the gift, after being forced to divorce her. But that was a story for another time.
