It’s Customary to Give Notice
When a tenant decides to leave, it’s customary to let the owner know ahead of time, preferably 30 days before their lease is up. And before leaving, they’re supposed to fix whatever damage they’ve done, like patching up holes in the wall and taking out the trash. But the tenants obviously didn’t know any of these rules, because they didn’t even know how to clean up their own living space.
