An 1800’s Lighthouse Can Withstand a Little Cold
Not only are animals and other living creatures and plants susceptible to freezing in low temperatures, but buildings with moving parts can also withstand some incredible damage due to ice and snow. This lighthouse called St. Joseph in the United States hit a temperature of -51 degrees Fahrenheit. The lighthouse was built in 1844 and although it was covered in ice, the old structure is still standing.
